Since spring, Cinderella Castle has been undergoing its “Royal Makeover” in preparation for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration next year. In this latest picture, it appears the new paint job is nearly complete. The base boasts a darker gray, the spires a deeper, bolder coat of blue, and the upper section is now covered in gold and rose pink.
The semblance of the new castle design is already found on the Walt Disney World website. Many guests discovered the new pink castle on a loading page they received while waiting to make their park pass reservations.
While Disney World shared the redesign with great excitement, fans have received the work in progress with some contention. While some like it, others wish it to not be as pink.

Cinderella Castle’s redesign is one of the two major construction projects currently underway at the Magic Kingdom park. The second is the continued construction of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland.
The Magic Kingdom will host two days of Annual Passholder previews on July 9, and July 10, before reopening to Guests on July 11. All three days are currently full. When those Guests arrive, they will be greeted with a Cinderella Castle much bolder and pinker than they remember.
