Excitement arises as Shanghai Disneyland reopens to the public! It’s the first of the Disney Parks to reopen after an extended closure. After a closure of nearly four months, Shanghai Disneyland was able to welcome guests back in to enjoy the attractions.
Everyone watched the Clock Tower as they waited for the gates to finally be open. Upon the morning of the opening of the Disney Park, there was a huge celebration to kick off the opening and a message from the President of Shanghai Disneyland, Joe Schott.
Shanghai Disneyland Reopening Day Message
Schott shares a message of hope for everyone involved with the Disney theme park from frontline workers, the cast members, and to guests. Every Disney fan around the world keeps the Disney magic alive. A part of his message addresses gratitude towards the reopening of the theme park and words of encouragement for the future.
”In recent weeks, however, the gates to these special worlds have been closed as we stand together to fight the global pandemic. But even in the toughest of times, the magic has always been here. It lives in the worlds of our imagination and inspires us to do great things, to be brave, and to overcome adversity.”
“We hope that today’s reopening can serve as a beacon of light across the globe, providing hope and inspiration for everyone, and demonstrate that we can overcome any challenge together.”
Joe Schott’s Disney Parks Blog Message
Joe Schott also took to Disney Parks Blog to shed some light on the reopening of Shanghai Disneyland. Some of his words remain the same as from his speech at the Disney Park’s reopening, as he continues to thank those involved with making the reopening possible. You can see his enthusiasm is the same as all of us Disney fans for the first reopening of Disney magic around the world.
“Thank you all for helping the magic live on, in your homes and imaginations, during these challenging times. I hope you enjoy these moments of joy and excitement from the first day of our reopening at Shanghai Disneyland!”
What Reopening Looks Like for Shanghai Disney Resort
Like a limit in visitor numbers, some new changes in policies and procedures will be in place. It is phased reopening where some of the entertainment like indoor theater shows will not be available. But with a limited amount of visitors, guests are still able to take photos with just their Mickey Mouse ears while not having to wear the face masks, only to be removed for the photo.
As the sun rose over Shanghai Disneyland, tickets were sold out before the Disney Park’s reopening as there aren’t the same earlier guest numbers. With social distancing practices in place, queues will look more like nearly empty lanes until you get to the ride vehicle. No matter what it looks like, Disney fans are just happy to walk into the resort and hear the company’s signature tune.
