The magic at Walt Disney World was ruined for a family who exposed the “worst Disney experience ever,” commenting they would never return.

Walt Disney World Resort and its four theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT, have been the birthplace of countless magical memories for millions of families since the Orlando-based Disney Resort opened its gates in 1971.

Unfortunately, a family recently lived the “worst Disney experience ever,” voicing their disappointment in the cast member’s behavior and the misinformation they received.

TikTok user @t.a.y.l.o.r.d.a.l.y recently posted a video sharing her family’s experience when visiting Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto for the first time after a lifetime of visits to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

“I have been going to Disney World since I was five years old on vacation, and for the past eight years, I’ve lived in Orlando […]. So I have so much experience when it comes to Disney, I’ve been doing it forever. So when I say I had a really terrible experience, it’s speaking volumes,” said the user at the beginning of her video.

She explained that she and her family wanted to try Trader Sam’s because they had never been before. The guest added that they had no problem waiting an hour and a half after signing into the waitlist, a standard wait time for this popular location.

The user mentioned that after being called back to the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort dining location, they were seated in “half a booth with no tables,” which ruined their plan to have dinner at Trader Sam’s, ordering “a bunch of appetizers.” She added that she and her family were never rude to the cast members but started asking about table space to resolve the confusion.

Unfortunately, the waiter “not very kindly” told them they would have to share the tables with the parties around them, which baffled the family as there was no room for their order.

After this disappointment, the family decided to leave the restaurant and inform the hostess of their decision, explaining the situation, to which the cast member “really rudely” responded, “Well, that’s the Trader Sam’s way. So, if you have a problem with that, that’s a you problem.”

“I did not expect to be treated so rudely and disrespectfully by Disney cast members,” the user commented, saying that she and her family would never go back to Trader Sam’s again.

She suggested guests avoid the restaurant, particularly if families are traveling with children, unless they’re celebrating a special occasion and are willing to wait a long time to be seated. “I don’t feel like anybody should be treated rudely for something like that,” she added.

While cast members at Trader Sam’s are known to be playful and sarcastic, much like at Whispering Canyon Cafe in
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, this incident was undoubtedly baffling for the family and many viewers.

One user commented, “That’s when you have to ask for a manager and voice your concern in an effective way. Not in a Karen way but a genuine – hey this is the experience I’m having and it’s not a good look.”

Others joined the conversation by sharing their experience at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, commenting that despite the location’s theming, they found it extremely crowded and uncomfortable to enjoy the experience.

However, some users shared much different experiences when visiting Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. One commented, “I looooove Trader Sam’s and have been multiple times with zero issues. This was probably just a one off bad experience and I’m sorry that happened to you! I recommend trying again because it’s amazing.”

One viewer commented, “Trader Sam’s is a really cool experience, and I’m sorry you missed out!! Trader Sam’s is a bar first for sure before a restaurant.” Another added, “They usually tell you that seating and tables aren’t guaranteed when you sign up for the waitlist.”
