The highly-anticipated X-Men ’97 is set to debut on Disney+ in just over two weeks, and it is already breaking records for Marvel Studios.

Growing up, there was nothing quite like waking up on a Saturday morning, pouring a big bowl of sugary cereal, and watching the greatest cartoons ever made. When it came to superheroes, there was one team that stood out above the rest: the X-Men. And X-Men ’97 looks to recapture that magic.
A continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series, this new series takes place right after Charles Xavier/Professor X dies in the finale, re-uniting everyone’s favorite mutants, including Cyclops (Ray Chase), Jean Grey (Jennifer Hale), Storm (Allison Sealy-Smith), Wolverine (Cal Dodd), Morph (JP Karliak), Rogue (Lenore Zann), Beast (George Buza), Gambit (AJ LoCascio), Jubilee (Holly Chou), Bishop (Isaac Robinson-Smith), Nightcrawler (Adrian Hough), and even Magneto (Matthew Waterson).

Needless to say, fans are excited about the new series, hoping that it will bring back the same epic action and impressive animation from the original. Fortunately for them, they will have plenty of X-Men to watch when the series launches on March 20, 2024.
‘X-Men ’97’ Will Be Longer Than Any Other Marvel Studios Series

When it comes to Disney+ series, Marvel Studios likes to keep it short. While there are a few exceptions, most notably WandaVision and both seasons of What If…?, most of their shows come in at about 5-6 episodes per season. This is not the case for X-Men ’97, which is going to have ten total episodes.
That’s almost double the average episode count of a Marvel Studios show, which sits at about six. However, it is believed that these episodes will average around thirty minutes, much like the original cartoon. To make up for this, X-Men ’97 will premiere two episodes at once.

While this is an exciting record to hold, it won’t hold it for long. Wonder Man has been reported to also have a ten-episode season, and Daredevil: Born Again has been confirmed to have an 18-episode season when it releases in 2025. But until then, X-Men ’97 will remain on top.
