Cleanliness and creepy crawlies are two things many hotel guests worry about, but it seems like not even the happiest place on earth is safe from a few unwanted guests.

The Disneyland Resort, much like its Floridian counterpart, is home to a wide variety of magical experiences surrounding Walt’s original theme park. Of course, picking out a place to stay is one of the most crucial decisions someone can make when visiting any Disney location, and it can definitely make or break your trip.

While Disneyland itself is home to several places to stay on property, such as the original Disneyland Hotel, the Grand Californian, and Paradise Pier, the area is also home to several chain hotels for Guests looking to save a little money while still being in park proximity. Unfortunately, not all Disney hotels have been keeping company standards.

Staying at a Disney Resort hotel is often essential to the Disney experience. Speaking as someone who makes a point to stay 100% on property every trip, the hotels absolutely saturate the environments with magic. However, guests sacrifice more than just theming by staying at a chain hotel or a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel.

As affordable as places like the Holiday Inn are, guests lose a considerable chunk of that Disney flavor whenever they stay off-property. That said, they might also be sacrificing Disney’s standards of comfort and cleanliness.

While the page certainly has more than its fair share of helpful tips and tricks, it also comes with several horror stories like the one above that warn potential guests not to make the same mistakes.

Anyone who frequently stays in a hotel is going to have at least some level of concern towards cleanliness, even official Disney hotels have been known to make a few mistakes. However, blood, bedbugs, and rats are certainly not something most want with their Mickey ears and monorails.

There’s no such thing as a perfect vacation, not even a place like the Disneyland Park or Walt Disney World Resort is capable of that improbability. Still, the standards by which the company holds itself should definitely be extended to the hotels surrounding its biggest attraction.

The footage and photos seen in the video above might just be the case for one isolated location, but it only further backs the argument for staying on official Disney property. All it takes is one bad experience to permanently change a customer’s outlook.
