For Guests all over the world, visiting a Disney theme park is the best dose of Disney magic. From the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to Anaheim’s Disneyland Resort, Shanghai Disneyland to Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Parks worldwide offer an escape from reality with nighttime spectaculars like Magic Kingdom’s Disney Enchantment, and seasonal events like Oogie Boogie Bash and Merriest Nites.

For Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Paris Resort, this morning saw a demonstration claim the central hub area in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle amid protests regarding working conditions for Cast Members.

Last month, Disney Cast Members went on strike at Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel — one of the Disney Resort’s hotels — with Guests claiming how “kids were sleeping on the floor”. A few weeks later, protests happened again in front of the Disneyland Park castle icon.

Disneyland Paris has suffered layoffs in relation to the ongoing effects of the global pandemic much like other Disney Parks worldwide. The last demonstration at Disneyland Park was in retaliation to alleged understaffing and working conditions as Cast Members for The Walt Disney Company.

Now, another protest is happening at the Disney Resort in Paris with reports claiming the central hub has once again been closed off.

From Twitter, DLP Report (@DLPReport), state:

The center of the hub is closed due to a demonstration by Cast Member union CGT:

The video shared on social media shows a group of union members gathered in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle attraction with no other Guests around. Last time, DLP Report stated that Park entertainment using this area would be amended to reflect the hub closure. As of yet, it is not clear whether this current protest will make the Disney Park follow the same action.

In another image, DLP Report also states that Disney security is aiming to prevent any photos from being taken of the protest.

Disney security trying their hardest to avoid people taking pictures but I mean.. the Castle is right behind.

Home to Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, and Disney Village, the Disney Resort began its phased reopening on July 15, 2020, after a prolonged closure. France, and therefore Disneyland Paris, still have certain health and safety restrictions in place including the need for a Health Pass in order to enter the Parks. This is in line with French government guidelines, you can read more on that here.

Amid the protests from Cast Members, Disneyland Paris, like other Parks, is making its transition from Halloween to Christmas, all the while the final touches to the Sleeping Beauty Castle refurbishment is nearing completion.

In addition to this, the Disney Resort will be taking part in Disney+ Day on November 12, 2021, with rare character appearances, a blue carpet, and a grand finale, including fireworks, at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. All the Disney+ Day celebrations will take place at Walt Disney Studios Park, with events also happening at Disneyland Resort in California, and Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort.
