The Happiest Place on Earth has been undergoing a few refurbishments lately! We have reported on construction happening inside Disneyland near “it’s a small world” and New Orleans Square, as well as inside Disney California Adventure at Cars Land. Now, construction walls have appeared in a very prominent location: the Disneyland Esplanade.

The Disneyland Esplanade is the area on Disneyland Resort property in between the two theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. On a busy day — and, now that Annual Passes AKA Magic Key Passes are here, any given day — this area is bustling with Guests arriving at the theme parks and Park Hopping from gate to gate. Given the amount of foot traffic the Disneyland Esplanade gets, it’s no surprise that refurbishments are needed from time to time. And when construction walls appear, they’re noticeable!

When visiting Disneyland Resort this week (We used our new Magic Key Pass! Have you gotten yours yet?) we noticed construction walls in the Disneyland Esplanade, almost smack dab in the middle of the walkway. Take a look:

The construction walls are noticeable and obstruct some of the walkway, but there is still plenty of room to walk around and meander through the Esplanade. Disney hasn’t announced exactly what construction is currently taking place here. We don’t anticipate the walls to stay up for an extended period of time, so hopefully the work will be finished soon and the Disneyland Esplanade will be wide open once again.

As mentioned, Magic Key Passes (formerly known as Annual Passes or Annual Passports) have officially returned to the Disneyland Resort, bringing more Guests to the theme parks on a regular basis. However, if you are planning to visit, how can you anticipate refurbishments or closures?

While the Disneyland Resort refurbishment calendar will not share any refurbishments that don’t impact operations, it will display any attraction refurbishments that are taking place. So, that is an excellent webpage to examine before your next trip — click here to visit the official Disneyland website for more information.
