Disneyland and all the other California theme parks are still battling the state officials on attainable reopening guidelines as we approach 8 months since the closures began. But that doesn’t mean all the magic making has come to a halt.

Though there may not be magical activities that Guests can participate in, while Guests aren’t able to visit the parks, some major updates were still in the works. Over the past few months, we’ve seen many little projects as well that both beautify Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure for the return of Guests and protect our well-being. Cast Members have been busy at work make sure our Disney home is well maintained until they can open up the gates!

Although seeing the esplanade as empty as it has been has made us all feel like Sadness from Inside Out, today we’re seeing signs of hope that we can all get excited about like Joy. The simple act of painting maintenance on the flagpoles throughout the esplanade has that happy Disney area music loop playing in our heads. All these projects are in hopes that one day soon, Disneyland will again be filled with Guests and Cast Members who call this The Happiest Place on Earth!

In just one short week, that will start to begin as Disney California Adventure reopens Buena Vista Street for retail shopping and dining as like the Disneyland Backlot Premiere Shop. With the esplanade in the queues’ sightline, Guests will be able to enter onto Disney California Adventure as an extension of the Downtown Disney District through a side entrance. And guess what? Disney is decking the halls of Buena Vista Street just in time for the holidays.

That hasn’t been the only sighting of holiday decorations at the Disneyland Resort either! Across the esplanade, Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland park was spotted to be dressed in its holiday best too. It’s definitely my Christmas wish that I’ll be able to visit Disneyland during the holiday season. Until we hear more, we’ll continue to stay optimistic that some pixie dust will be spread over the Disneyland Resort and for the first time in forever, there’ll be magic, there’ll be fun! Maybe Anna should open up the gates when the time comes?
