Calling all Disneyland Resort fans! The Downtown Disney District is in the process of expanding its magical offerings. This shopping, dining, and entertainment district at the Disneyland Resort will soon be adding two new retailers.
If you are a fan of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, but you are looking for a place to visit that does not require theme park admission, then Downtown Disney is the destination for you.
Downtown Disney — AKA the Downtown Disney District — is the shopping, dining, and entertainment district at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, It is located adjacent to the two theme parks (Disneyland and California Adventure), the Disneyland Esplanade (the area in between the Parks), and the three onsite hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Parking at Downtown Disney is super easy — you can park at the Simba parking lot for $10, and you can get 3-5 hours of parking validated with a qualifying purchase at Downtown Disney.
Disney Parks Blog just announced that two unique, specialty retailers currently located at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort — Lovepop and Pele Soccer — will soon be opening up locations at the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
With Disneyland Resort bringing back a reimagined version of the Annual Passholder program — now called the Magic Key Pass program — and with new Magic Key holders (formerly known as Passholders) likely visiting the Resort more and more, these new retailers will surely be a welcome addition to the District.
Many fans have been waiting for Disney to bring more shops and dining options to Downtown Disney ever since so many closed a few years back, so it is clear that the company wants to continue to breathe new life into this area of the Resort — they even just hosted a live event this month!
