Mickey’s Mix Magic is by far one of my favorite nighttime Disney Park shows of all time. One of the main reasons is its extravagant projection show right down Main Street, U.S.A., at the Disneyland Resort.
While “DJ” Mickey is projected on Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park, playing remixes of classic Disney tunes and hearing crowds cheer and sing to “It’s a Good Time” Disney’s dance-worthy celebration song, bright-colored projections and displays of Disney Characters such as Coco, Frozen, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, and more come to life right on the Main Street, U.S.A. buildings!
Joseph, a Senior Technical Director for Disneyland Resort, takes us behind the scenes and shares some insight on just how much work goes into a nightly show. Check out the video below that Disneyland Resort Ambassadors shared on their Instagram page:
It takes a team to produce our entertainment offerings like Mickey’s Mix Magic, and Senior Technical Director Joe is leading the way!

What about Walt Disney World?
Disney fans are used to seeing immersive projections shows on the west coast, and on many Disneyland theme park landmarks, such as Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world,” Sleeping Beauty Castle, and even the Matterhorn!
We have seen some gorgeous projection shows on our beloved Cinderella Castle such as Happily Ever After but what about extending it down Main Street, U.S.A. — when will Disney World share the same experience?
Well, Disney heard the cries of many Disney World goers and stated that Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom will also introduce a nighttime spectacular complete with projections on every Main Street building called Disney Enchantment. This new sparkly show will debut on October 1 in celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary!
A new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment,” will help kick off the 50th anniversary festivities when it debuts Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom Park. Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
When it comes to live shows and entertainment, especially nighttime firework spectaculars, no one does it like Disney. The commitment to bringing new and enhanced shows and surprise Guests with innovative experiences is what makes Disney so special. We cannot wait to experience Disney Enchantment this year and thank the Cast Members for inspiring us with their hard work and magic!
