The Disney Parks Blog just dropped HUGE news that Disney World fireworks are back! As COVID 19 guidelines are relaxed at the Parks, we can expect the “return to normal” to expand faster than ever. And as a result, the Disney theme parks are bringing back more experiences than ever before, including Disney World fireworks!

Disney World Fireworks are Back!
Just in time for July 4th, 2021, 2 Disney Park locations are bringing back fireworks. “A Disney tradition since 1957, firework shows are what Walt Disney called the perfect “kiss goodnight” at the close of a magical day, and this summer the skies above Disney theme parks will sparkle with color once more.” – Disney Parks Blog
At Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, July 1 marks the start of nightly fireworks performances at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. The Disney Parks Blog tells us more in their latest post on June 15th which has really turned into an unbirthday for Disney Parks.
“Happily Ever After” will transform Cinderella Castle with lights, projections and pyrotechnics, as moments from favorite Disney stories encourage you to grab hold of your dreams and make them come true. And as part of the ongoing transformation of EPCOT, “EPCOT Forever” will produce a spectacle of fireworks, music and lighting effects over World Showcase Lagoon, highlighting the themes of innovation, exploration, imagination and celebration at the core of the park’s past, present and future.
EPCOT has been testing fireworks in the last weeks, and we supposed it was the nighttime spectacular, HarmonioUS, but now we can surmise that it may have been rehearsals for EPCOT Forever. After all, A Whole New World can be heard at the close of that show. Here’s a small, 12-second clip looking at the magic that is soon to return to the castles and EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon and Disney’s 50th anniversary approaches:
If you just can’t wait until your next trip or Orlando to get some Disney World fireworks in, don’t forget that the Magic Kingdom fireworks show, Happily Ever After, can be streamed as #DisneyMagicMoments at home. And stay tuned to Disney Parks Blog and Inside the Magic for opportunities to join us for upcoming live streams this summer!
Other firework shows we’d love to see return? Fantasmic! in Disney’s Hollywood Studios tops our list, and we wouldn’t mind a little Star Wars music as galactic spectacular pyrotechnic bursts soar over Grauman’s Chinese Theatre!
As a reminder, valid park admission and a park reservation are required for park entry and must be linked to your account.
