Disney fans are not the only ones excited for Disneyland’s April 30 reopening. Disneyland Resort Cast Members have been showing their excitement about being back to work after many were furloughed due to the pandemic.
Today, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock took to Instagram to show Cast Members standing next to a large clock that is counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until Disneyland’s reopening.
Potrock posted:
Our “Magic Makers” are counting down to the reopening of Disneyland Resort on April 30. It’s hard to believe opening day is just two weeks away. As I walk around the resort I can feel the excitement – our Cast Members can’t wait to bring back the magic! Thank you to all the Cast who are busy preparing to welcome Guests back to “The Happiest Place on Earth.”

Potrock has been very active on Instagram recently, sharing photos around the Disneyland Resort to show Cast Members back in action and prepping the theme parks.
On April 14, he shared a picture of Ghost Hosts outside the Haunted Mansion as they get ready to welcome Guests back to ride with the 999 Happy Haunts who live in the Gracey Mansion.
It’s exciting to see Cast Members back in Haunted Mansion along with the Ghost Host and other spirited residents. Earlier this week we unveiled enhancements in and around the estate; an exterior refresh, new stories in the pet cemetery and the return of an old favorite of mine – the “April to December” portrait. The Mansion looks frighteningly great! The countdown to our reopening is on… and we are dying to welcome you back!
He also shared photos of safety precautions that are being taken to keep Guests healthy and safe while they visit Disneyland. The photos were of plexiglass installations that had been made at Space Mountain in Tomorrowland.
Potrock posted:
As I walk the resort it’s exciting to see more Cast Members and more activity every day. I stopped by Space Mountain and met the awesome team of leads and trainers who are busy preparing the attraction. I am grateful for all the teams who are diligently working to get us to opening day on April 30!
Disneyland announced on March 9 that it would be calling 10,000 Cast Members back to work, so they could be trained on new safety guidelines. On March 5, new guidelines were issued on theme park reopening as part of Gavin Newsom’s “Blueprint Refresh.” Those guidelines allowed the theme parks to open within weeks.
Less than two weeks later Disneyland Resort announced that it would have its grand reopening of the theme parks (Disneyland and Disney California Adventure) on April 30.
It is so great to see theme park Cast Members back at work. They certainly aren’t the only ones who are counting down the days until Disneyland reopens!
