As many of you already know, EPCOT is undergoing a major overhaul, which includes a complete reimagining of Future World, as well as construction on a few different attractions.
During the 2019 D23 Expo, Bob Chapek, now the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, and Zach Riddley of Walt Disney Imagineering, announced several big projects coming to EPCOT — Some of which we have already seen and some of which are coming soon.
Most recently, fans had the opportunity to see the new flags fly high as well as new color-coordinated lighting around the main entrance plaza, which debuted on the same day as the start of the 2021 International Flower and Garden Festival.
Along with both of these new elements, the theme park also debuted a new music loop on the same day! The new music loop includes songs such as “The Seasonal Seas” by Steven Price and “Eternal Beauty” by Mark Petrie. You can check out a playlist of the new EPCOT music loop on Spotify, courtesy of one of our writers, here.
And now, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley has taken to Instagram to give fans additional details surrounding the new music loop at EPCOT and how they are continuing to bring this new transformation to life:
EPCOT has a unique musical voice – a legacy and future with a sound all its own. As we shared with D23 in 2019, our team has been working on new music and a parkwide soundscape informing new shows, attractions and environments we are bringing to life in this transformation to live alongside the classic songs and themes EPCOT is known for. This week we released a new EPCOT main entrance soundtrack with new tracks featuring bold themes with inspiring arrangements that set the stage for exploration, celebration and discovery.
Riddley continued to explain how Leeann Hseuh, the Associate Music Producer on the project, drew inspiration from some of the beautiful views and architecture from the original EPCOT:
Associate Music Producer Leeann Hsueh drew inspiration from the breathtaking views and aspirational architecture of the original EPCOT when selecting the new soundtrack for this enhanced space. Hsueh notes “most of the music selections feature a hybrid orchestra – a combination of live musicians and electronic elements to bring a freshness to the music program.” This soundtrack captures our mission with this park and our work – that our shared future is bright and rich when we connect and celebrate what makes us …. Us.
Keep your ears open for these new sounds as you visit #EPCOT.

Riddley also took to Instagram to share a video of the new lighting package at the theme park, which is “more than four football fields long”!
At more than four football fields long, this light ribbon has been present since opening day, but was originally lit by hundreds of fluorescent tubes in solid colors. Now we’ve updated it with highly energy-efficient, programmable LED lighting with nearly 3,000 individually controlled points of light that blend together to create color gradients and patterns.
