Not only will the 50th anniversary celebration last for a total of 18 months (yes, it will be running for over one year!) but it will also bring a brand new look to the theme parks, which Disney is calling “EARidescence!

Disney Parks Blog states:

Beginning Oct. 1, Walt Disney World Resort will throw “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in honor of our 50th anniversary, bringing new experiences to our four theme parks and beyond. This milestone is such a big deal, we’ve even coined a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what you’ll see when you visit. Our Disney teams are creating all sorts of new decorations that will shimmer and sparkle all day and into the night

You’ll also want to keep an eye out for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who will have sparkling new looks for the celebration. As hosts of the event, they’ll be dressed for the occasion in custom-made fashions of EARidescent fabric with gold highlights.

From the concept art revealed by Disney, we can tell that the new color scheme is very similar to the new Magic Happens parade, which debuted at Disneyland shortly before the temporary park closures due to the pandemic.

Beautiful shades of pinks, purples, and blues will completely take over the character costumes as well as the theme park icons for the 50th anniversary celebration. However, this is very different than what the Disneyland Resort had as their color scheme for their 50th anniversary.

In case you don’t remember, Disneyland was filled with royal shades of gold and silver-blues during their 50th anniversary celebration so seeing these shades of blues, pinks, and purples for Disney World could come as a surprise. With this being said, we wanted to hear from Disney World fans and get their thoughts surrounding the new color scheme.

Lani (@pixidusted) also noticed the similarities to Disneyland’s Magic Happens parade, writing:

I feel like they didn’t get enough out of the Magic Happens parade from Disneyland so they parlayed that color scheme to the 50th of WDW. I mean I love it….but it’s Magic Happens…..

Brianna S. (@devils.reject.96) really loves the new shades:

I mean, I’ve never been to Disneyworld (sad I know) but I love the color iridescent shades like this are my favorite. Sorry, EARidescent!

And lastly, Beckie (@beckielou2017) told Inside the Magic she is just happy to see a new color scheme and Disney World not reverting to the famous Cake Castle:

Love it. Also relieved the castle isn’t going to be another cake
