If you are a Star Wars fan, you know that Disney+ streaming show, The Mandalorian, has ushered in a new age of the classic franchise. The Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni hit series is has been highly discussed, not only regarding the storyline, but the actors themselves. Gina Carano, who plays former mercenary and current New Republic Marshal Cara Dune, has attracted a lot of attention to herself this season due to her open social and political views on Twitter.

After the hashtag #FireGinaCarano went viral on Twitter, co-star Pedro Pascal, who plays title Mandalorian Din Djarin, showed his support to Carano on Instagram. Pascal showed that his admiration for Carano surpassed any differing viewpoints the two may have.
Since then, The Mandalorian Season 2 came to a close, and Carano’s supporters — who have existed all along — came out en force to support the New Republic Marshal. #WeLoveCaraDune began trending.

Now, we can see Pedro Pascal is continuing his active support for Gina Carano. Culture Crave (@CultureCrave) took to Twitter to showcase a tweet from Pascal regarding Carano’s acting work as Cara Dune in The Mandalorian.
Pedro Pascal has high praise for Gina Carano in #TheMandalorian
“I love working with Gina … With this very tough exterior, there is such a feeling and vulnerable person. The way she puts that into #CaraDune
… makes you not be able to look away”

Amid the ongoing controversy, it is great to see that the acting team behind The Mandalorian support one another continuously.
What is next for Gina Carano in the Star Wars franchise?
At the end of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Episode 8 (Chapter 16: The Rescue), after Dune successfully helps commandeer an Imperial shuttle in order to help rescue Grogu from the hands of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), it is assumed she will return to Nevarro where she was appointed Marshal by the New Republic.
Prior to The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Investor Day announcement regarding two Mandalorian spinoffs — Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic — many fans theorized that Cara Dune’s reported spinoff would come in the form of a series with Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) or Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff).

But, once Rangers of the New Republic was announced, eyes quickly turned towards The Mandalorian spinoff series to see more Cara Dune.
Although this has not been officially announced, considering Dune’s journey throughout the bulk of Season 2 in The Mandalorian had her becoming a “Ranger of the New Republic”, it would not be highly shocking to see her character appear in the series.
