The day is here, Disney fans; The Magic Kingdom is open once more! And … it’s totally empty. It’s also got a heck of a load of new health and safety measures, including new Walt Disney World shopping procedures.
Yes, today a special group of Annual Passholders get to live out every Disney fans dream and roam the grounds of The Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom parks, including three of our writers.
Our team on the ground has been into a handful of stores and experienced some interesting new procedures.
Walt Disney World shopping procedures include social distancing
Very similar to what we’ve seen at Shanghai Disneyland, social distancing floor stickers have been implemented, seen here at Memento Mori at Liberty Square and the Splash Mountain store.

Health and safety measures at Magic Kingdom stores
Unsurprisingly, new health and safety signs were also installed to advise on social distancing and cleanliness. Our reporter also told us that all stores are highly advising cashless payments and there are hand sanitizer dispensers at the entrance and exit of every shop.
We’ve also reported that a selection of Disney themed masks are available to purchase across Magic Kingdom stores. Extra precautions have also been taken on WDW transportation and Disney has even issued an in-app warning about the risks of COVID-19.
We’ll continue to provide further updates on everything to do with Walt Disney World’s phased reopening, including the AP preview day as we hear it.
