Walt Disney World Resort has welcomed Guests back to two of its theme parks (Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) for the first time since the Orlando Disney Resort closed on March 20.
During today’s Annual Passholder preview, Guests have gotten to experience the health and safety changes Disney has implemented, including social distancing measures on Disney Park transportation options and how character interactions have changed for the time being.
As the Walt Disney Company prepares for its official theme park phased reopening on July 11, they are leaving nothing to chance as the pandemic continues. A new health and safety message has been added to the My Disney Experience app. Anyone who is in the Disney World theme parks will see this notification when they open the WDW app:
The new coronavirus notice reads:
We have taken enhance health and safety measures – for you, our Guests and Cast Members. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting Walt Disney World Resort.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and Guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
By visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

While this new My Disney Experience Guest notice is designed to absolve the Walt Disney Company of liability in the event that a Guest contracts COVID-19 while visiting , , EPCOT, or , it also serves as a good reminder to take all necessary steps to enjoy Disney World in a safe and responsible way at this time.
It is likely that this same notice will appear on the Disneyland app when Disneyland Resort reopens.
