It’s been five years since we first learned what made Maleficent’s heart so dark and cold, ultimately leading her to cursing the newborn Princess Aurora.
On October 18, fans of the notorious Maleficent will get to learn even more about the story of Disney’s most beautiful villain when “Maleficent: The Mistress of All Evil” hits theaters.
But Disney fans who visit the parks or head out aboard a Disney Cruise won’t have to wait until then for a taste of the evil that is Maleficent, as sneak peeks of the film will begin popping up on September 27.
Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort can catch a glimpse into the newest piece of the Maleficent saga beginning September 27. It will be shown in the theater inside the “Walt Disney Presents” attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction is located near the entrance to Toy Story Land.
At the Disney California Adventure park at the Disneyland Resort in California, fans of the black-horned villainess can catch a sneak peek of her new film in the evenings at Sunset Showcase Theater, following the daily performances of Mickey’s PhilharMagic. This sneak peek showing will also begin on September 27. And beginning on September 27, Guests who set sail aboard a Disney Cruise ship can peek into the continued fantastical story of Maleficent. The sneak peek will be available to Guests at Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris beginning September 28.
Angelina Jolie is back as Maleficent, the villain who becomes enraged at the castle when a royal holiday is proclaimed and the entire kingdom is invited to come and pay homage to the newborn daughter or King Stefan and the Queen–everyone but Maleficent. In her rage, she curses the infant princess, setting into motion a series of events that may lead to the princess’s death when she’s only 16.
The newest part of the Maleficent story begins years after the story of “Maleficent” and recounts the complex and multi-faceted relationship between the evil horned villain and the soon-to-be Queen. The two will face new challenges and adversaries and will form new alliances as they strive to protect those that matter most to them.
