Universal Orlando Resort has announced that the Hogwarts Express attraction will undergo a scheduled refurbishment early next year. According to the resort’s website:
“Hogwarts Express will be temporarily closed starting February 9th, 2026 through February 23rd, 2026. The Attraction plans to reopen on February 24th, 2026.”

Another Closure?
The refurbishment will span two weeks, giving fans of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter time to plan their visits accordingly. The Hogwarts Express, which connects Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure with King’s Cross Station in Universal Studios Florida, is a signature experience for park-goers seeking an immersive journey between the two parks.
This upcoming closure comes on the heels of a brief shutdown earlier this year, when the attraction was temporarily closed from September 15 through 19, 2025. At the time, guests were informed of the short-term closure with little disruption to their overall park experience.

What Can Fans Expect?
Universal has not provided detailed information regarding the scope of the February refurbishment. Previous closures of the Hogwarts Express have typically included routine maintenance and updates to ensure the attraction remains safe, operational, and fully immersive for visitors.
Guests planning trips during the mid-February timeframe should consider the closure when scheduling their park visits. Alternative attractions and experiences will still be available in both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida, but the iconic train ride will not be in operation during the two-week period.

The Hogwarts Express remains one of Universal Orlando’s most popular rides, combining state-of-the-art visuals, animatronics, and theming to create a seamless journey through the Wizarding World. Fans can expect the refurbishment to maintain the attraction’s high standards while ensuring a safe and magical experience for all visitors.
Visitors are encouraged to check Universal Orlando Resort’s official website for the latest updates regarding reopening schedules and any additional announcements related to maintenance or refurbishments of park attractions. The February closure provides the resort with the opportunity to perform necessary upkeep before the busy spring season.
