Guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were confused by an alleged addition to the immersive area. Have you spotted these details?
Since its opening in 2019, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park has welcomed multiple changes and additions, including the arrival of characters like The Mandalorian, Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, and more. But an apparent “surprise addition” to the immersive land inspired by George Lucas’ franchise confused parkgoers.

Redditor u/MonocularVision posted a video as they were boarding the Star Wars-inspired land’s most popular attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, commenting that “the new alien ships added to [the ride were] pretty cool.”
Despite Galaxy’s Edge being the dock of some of the most iconic ships in the Star Wars universe, including the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing ships, these “new alien ships” looked nothing like any ship, moon, or space station in the franchise. Instead, the bizarre sight above the immersive land was much more… common at Walt Disney’s original theme park.
While Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park is set to welcome an all-new fireworks show later this year as part of a celebration inspired by the beloved franchise, these bizarre sightings were caused by one of Disney California Adventure’s most popular offerings, the nighttime spectacular World of Color — ONE (which, ironically, includes segments inspired by George Lucas’ Star Wars).
The breathtaking nighttime show uses water screens, lasers, projections, fireworks, and stunning fire effects that often send massive rings of black smoke flying into the air, visible from Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Park.
These massive rings are what the guest who posted the video spotted above the park while boarding Rise of the Resistance, and undoubtedly took the opportunity to make a hilarious joke. A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

This is not the first time guests visiting Disneyland Resort have been shocked after seeing the massive smoke rings, as the sight surfaces online constantly, sparking speculation and once even triggering a rumor about UFOs flying above the Southern California theme parks.
