Earlie this week, Disneyland Resort unveiled that Guests inside the Park could access the new Genie systems on the Disneyland app, which includes Genie+ and the Lightning App.
The same day that the systems were made available, the app crashed.
The Genie+ system was down altogether and many popular Lightning Lane attractions, which could be purchased a la carte, were not available.
Even with those problems occurring just a couple of days ago, Disneyland has increased the prices on several Lightning Lane attractions heading into the weekend.
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure was $7.00 on the Disney Genie’s Lightning Lane opening day, but heading into the weekend, the attraction is now listed at $12.00.
Likewise, Radiator Springs Racers was originally listed at $7.00 and it has also been increased to $12.00 for the weekend.
It’s also interesting to note that Disneyland Genie+ services are $20.00, which is $5.00 more than the prices Guests at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando are paying.
Disneyland Resort’s official description of Lightning Lane services reads:
This new “a la carte” option allows the individual purchase of Lightning Lane entrance arrival windows for some of our most popular attractions: Radiator Springs Racers and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at Disney California Adventure park, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland park (subject to limited availability; attractions not included with Disney Genie+). Pricing for the “a la carte” option will vary by date and attraction. Be sure to check the Disneyland app on the day of your visit for the latest pricing for each available Lightning Lane attraction entrance arrival window. If you choose this option, you may purchase the next available arrival window, one at a time, for up to two (2) attractions per day upon entering a theme park.
Disney did note that the prices of these a la carte attractions would fluctuate depending on crowd numbers and the days of the week and it’s clear that they are wasting no time in changing prices accordingly.
