Now that Walt Disney World is in full swing of things for the 50th anniversary celebrations, Guests have so much to see and do.
Each Park has their own decor that Guests can admire. With the Fab 50 character statues scattered throughout Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests can find their favorite Disney pals in the parks, and once 2022 rolls around, Disney’s MagicBand+ will allow Guests to interact with them!
The two new evening spectaculars that Disney has brought in are Magic Kingdom’s Disney Enchantment which replaced Happily Ever After as the 50th anniversary show, and the longer-lasting Harmonious at EPCOT. On social media, many have heavily criticized both shows, which could deter Guests from wanting to visit. Aside from your thoughts on either show, there is still a major reason you need to visit every Disney Park at night.
For the 50th anniversary, Disney has implemented the Beacons of Magic, which illuminate all of the focal points at the Parks. All four transformations are stunning and jaw-dropping, and are reason enough to hang out at Disney World once the sun goes down. At Magic Kingdom, the castle will unveil the Beacons of Magic transformation throughout the evening, with a vocal introduction on the first reveal. It allows the concept art we have seen for months to come to light in a shimmering way.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life has more life injected into it as it glows for Guests. Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings Tower of Terror back from the dead as the hotel is once again filled with dancing Guests of the 30s’. At EPCOT, Spaceship Earth has a permanent transformation that I could watch for hours. The showing is the longest of all four beacons and shows how the new lighting technology can change, shine, and give Spaceship Earth a makeover we didn’t know it needed. Plus, as the newly lit monorails ride by, it truly is a magical sight for all to see.
Plus, when you visit either EPCOT or Magic Kingdom during either show time, attraction lines are non-existent! On the opening of Disney Enchantment, we walked onto Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain with almost two hours to showtime. As a reminder, October 1 was so busy at Magic Kingdom that Park Hopping was suspended at one time in the day, which only shows that attraction lines barely existed, although the Park was super busy!
Overall, it seems clear that Disney nailed it when it comes to the Beacons of Magic which will allow Guests to leave Walt Disney World in awe, and with a smile on their face each night.
