Credit: UniversalUniversal has officially announced a grand opening date for the Universal Beijing Resort after delays caused by the pandemic.

The Universal Beijing Resort will grand open to the public on September 20!
The Resort is going through a lengthy testing phase right now and will begin “trial operations” on September 1. While the initial grand opening what set for May of 2021, the Resort suffered delayed caused by the ongoing pandemic. Thankfully, work on Universal Beijing Resort was able to resume and the Resort will have its grand opening soon.
Universal has taken great lengths to make sure that the Universal Beijing Resort will be familiar to Universal theme park fans, but also be equally unique from other Universal theme parks.
The Universal Beijing Resort is home to seven distinct lands featuring franchises such as Harry Potter, Transformers, Jurassic World, and more. While some lands such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter are the same as you will see them in other Universal theme parks, some lands are new and exciting.
For instance, in Universal Beijing Resort’s Jurassic World land you will be immersed into Isla Nublar. Isla Nublar is home to the Jurassic World Adventure attraction which can only be found at the Universal Beijing Resort. The cutting-edge attraction has Guests being chased by the Indominos Rex from the Jurassic World film and is unlike any of the other Jurassic World attractions found at other Universal theme parks.
Universal’s new Beijing Resort will be a competitor to Disney’s latest Resort in Shanghai. It appears that both theme park giants want to take a bite out of the Chinese market. Both the Universal Beijing Resort and the Shanghai Disney Resort pull out all the stops to attract visitors and are both worth the trip to China if you are a theme park fan.
This is not the only new theme park Universal has been working on. In fact, Epic Universe at the Universal Orlando Resort is back under construction after a delay caused by the pandemic. Hopefully, we will get more information on when Epic Universe could open soon.
