Facebook user and Annual Passholders – Walt Disney World group member, Dan C., said he was nearly struck by lightning in Magic Kingdom yesterday evening and even shared the following video with Inside the Magic.

In the video below, you can see the rain pouring down in Fantasyland right before you see the sky light up from lightning strikes, which is quickly followed by loud booms of thunder.

If you are ever inside the Disney theme parks during one of Florida’s thunderstorms, it is important to seek shelter until the storm passes. The theme parks are filled with several shops and attractions located indoors and so if you notice thunder or lightning, be sure to stop inside one of these buildings so you remain safe until the storms pass.

It is also important to keep in mind that having a stormy day at the parks could really change the trajectory of your day at times as select Disney World attractions may close due to the rain. With this being said, there are many attractions at the theme parks located indoors that Guests can enjoy while they wait out the storm.

Make sure to download the My Disney Experience app onto your phone as Disney will continue to update wait times and ride closures within this app.
