If you are ever planning on visiting Disney World, one thing you should know is that Florida may not get too cold, but it is prone to heavy rain and lots of storms!

Having a stormy day at the parks could really change the trajectory of your day at times, but you can also still choose to make the best of a rainy day situation and splash around in the rain. Today, Florida is undergoing a severe weather warning where thunderstorms, tornados, and hail are all possible, following yesterday’s strong wind events that knocked over trees at Animal Kingdom.

With a warning like this, some may think that that would mean the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks would be empty, but that is definitely not the case! Even at 35% capacity, we are still seeing high wait times for attractions, which means during all of the thunderous roars I can hear as I type this, Guests are still enjoying the magic at EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom!

From this photo alone, we can tell that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is still bustling with Guests as the three longest wait times on property are all coming from that park today. Tower of Terror has a whopping 95-minute wait, Slinky Dog Dash is coming in at 70 minutes, alongside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Magic Kingdom is also getting some hour-long waits with Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain. Personally, I think these two rides make sense for opposite reasons. If you are already soaked, why not ride Splash Mountain? And on the other hand, if you want to escape bad weather Pirates is one of the best queues to do it in!

Other attractions with longer wait times include Kilimanjaro Safaris, Avatar Flight of Passage, Test Track, Spaceship Earth, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train all within the 45-50 minute mark.

So, if the weather is something you are worried about when you are at Disney World, so long as you have an umbrella and poncho and things are not yet too severe, you can still have a wet but magical day at the parks!

Do you mind going to a Disney World park when it is raining out?
