When Disneyland Resort’s highly anticipated Marvel-themed land, Avengers Campus, opened at Disney California Adventure theme park last week, crowds were wild and Disney Parks fans couldn’t wait to get their fill of this immersive super hero experience.
Now, however, Disney has already made a big change to the Avengers Campus experience — and it has to do with food service in the new land.
Prior to opening day, Disney shared with Inside the Magic that Shawarma Palace, Pym Test Kitchen, and Pym Tasting Lab would be exclusively Mobile Order. At that time, only Terran Treats was expected to not offer Mobile Order.
Overall, Mobile Order is being highly encouraged at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure due to the contactless nature of the ordering process.
On Avengers Campus opening day, however, Disneyland officials opted to accept walk-ups at the Quick Service Shawarma Palace food cart, as Guests could be accommodated. We do not have confirmation if Pym Tasting Lab and Test Kitchen were offering the same option.
At that time, it seemed that walk-up ordering would be accommodated on an as-needed basis, but now, it seems that the Mobile Order option has been completely removed from Shawarma Palace. As you can see in the screenshot [below], Shawarma Palace no longer has the Mobile Order option next to its Quick Service restaurant category.
Other Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park dining establishments — such as Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats on Pixar Pier and Award Wieners in Hollywood Land — that offer a Mobile Order menu, however, clearly list the Mobile Order category.
After defeating Loki and the invading Chitauri army, the exhausted Avengers discovered their new favorite food at the original Shawarma Palace location in New York City.
The feeling of appreciation was mutual, and the owners of Shawarma Palace were pleased to accept the invitation to open a second location at Avengers Campus.
Avenge your hunger with a succulent chicken shawarma wrap, action packed with a delectable garlic spread and creamy yogurt-tahini sauce with pickled vegetables. Or taste the impossible with an Impossible™ Victory Falafel—a plant-based Impossible™ falafel wrap with crispy florets of cauliflower tucked inside a warm pita.
Enjoyed by new recruits and veteran Super Heroes alike, the tasty food cart is decked out with fun Avengers memorabilia.
Do you like Mobile Order or are you glad Disney has switched to walk-up only at the new Avengers Campus food cart?
