Jurassic World VelociCoaster is finally previewing to theme park Guests as of today, and the crowds are there to prove it!
Universal recently announced that Annual Passholders (UOAP) would be able to book a time slot from May 2 through to May 5 to ride the coaster for the first time, before it’s grand reveal on June 10. Please note that all VelociCoaster preview reservations for Universal Passholders are now gone. Over the past few days, Team Members have had the chance to ride the attraction, but now that Passholders are lining up for the experience, it seems that it could be confusing day Guests.
If you take a look at your Universal Orlando App, VelociCoaster is listed, but there is no wait time. We can also see that at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, signage is up and ready to go for the Jurassic World coaster, even the height marker stands at the front of the park! After seeing all of the signage, on top of a line extending from the queue, it makes sense as to why a typical day Guest may think the attraction is open.
As you can see below, the current crowds to check in for Annual Pass previews are quite large.
Because of the commotion in the Jurassic Park section of the theme park, many Team Members are standing at the entrance of the attraction, as well as at the check-in area reminding Guests that in order to ride, they must have their Universal Annual Pass, as well as their confirmation email with the correct date and time listed for the preview reservation.
There is also signage that notes the current rides that are underway are part of a “technical rehearsal”. At the moment, it seems that the rehearsal will end on May 5 as Universal has not announced an extension for Passholder previews, though we will report back if anything changes.
To continue to alert day Guests who may not know about the technical rehearsals of the coaster for Annual Passholders, there is also signage listing that the attraction will open on June 10.
So, if you are heading to Universal Orlando Resort over the next few days in hopes to ride the new Jurassic roller coaster, please remember that unless you have a valid and scheduled entry email with a QR code, as well as your Universal Orlando Annual Pass, and photo ID, you will not be able to ride until June 10!
