Going to Disney World is always a magical adventure, and oftentimes, Guests will walk away with stories and memories that they will remember for the rest of their life! Typically, those moments come from something positive happening, but even though Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth, things can still go awry at times.

Sometimes technical difficulties may happen and rides can, unfortunately, break down. And one time, Guests got stuck on Carousel of Progress at 2 a.m., causing this situation to be a different type of Disney memory.

If you have been to Disney World before, there is a good chance you have experienced an attraction breaking down while you were on it. In a more serious event where the ride cannot operate again, Guests are evacuated from the ride, but more times than not, that is not the case and an announcement plays which explains your ride vehicle will begin moving shortly and to please stay inside.

Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom is pretty notorious for this happening, as well as Under the Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid as both operate on an omnimover system. Well, what happens when you get stuck on Carousel of Progress at 2:00 a.m. while delusion sets in from being in the heat the entire day?

Podcasters Bradley and Chris from The Mouse and Men recently spoke about their first Disney trip together and discussed going to Disney for what seems to have been for an After Hours event after a long day full of conferences in Orlando.

The two were exhausted, but both agreed that going to Magic Kingdom and being there in the middle of the night was an amazing opportunity, so they carried on with determination and a sprinkle of pixie dust.

After riding Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and a slew of other attractions at Magic Kingdom, the pair thought it would be a good idea to be able to say they rode Carousel of Progress at 2:o0 a.m. As a fellow COP lover, I definitely understand their choice, plus, if you are exhausted at 2:00 a.m., there really is not a better place to relax than the Carousel of Progress theater.

So, as you may know, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is an attraction that rotates to each stage as the story continues, but for Bradley and Chris, this was not the case. It seems that the theater was stuck in the first room, and the Disney fans had to repeatedly hear “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” over and over again!

As the delirium settled in, the two thought “Okay, what’s going on? Did they forget that there are people in here?”. Of course, the Cast Members did not forget about the gentlemen, as this is something that often happens with the ride. That being said, the two continued to discuss how they thought that they would be stuck on the attraction until 8:00 a.m. and would not make it to work, which is hilarious, considering there are two doors located at the back of the theater that would let them out if need be!

The two agreed that their tiredness was definitely a key factor in their rash thoughts, as the theater did begin rotating after waiting for a while.

Carousel of Progress does tend to break down often, so this story is not too much of a surprise, but hearing the panic these Guests were going through definitely deserves a chuckle! Plus, while the two discussed the story, they were constantly laughing, so even though the memory began with something going wrong, it turned into something that ended up being a great memory and story that the two friends continue to bond over.
