After suffering a four-day-long unscheduled shutdown, the Haunted Mansion reponed at the Magic Kingdom to scores of happy Walt Disney World guests. But less than 48 hours later, the Liberty Square attraction broke down once again and guests found themselves being evacuated from the ride.

While the specific reasons for the closure are still unknown, guests on the ride reported their situation on twitter showing the lights turning on in the mansion and even a door to the maintenance room opened. Check it out.

Walt Disney World did not have its Haunted Mansion scheduled to receive maintenance this past week; however, Cast Members shared last week that the attraction was down due to technical difficulties and had to undergo unscheduled maintenance. There as no change made to the official Walt Disney World website, suggesting that this “interruption” was very much unscheduled.
There is little doubt that whatever unspecified technical issues that reportedly caused the multi-day shutdown are continuing to cause interruptions with the ride today. It also doesn’t help that the Haunted Mansion remains one of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World.
The Haunted Mansion
One of the original Walt Disney World attractions installed at the Magic Kingdom, the Haunted Mansion is a journey through a ghoulish manor filled with 999 happy haunts.
Walt Disney World describes the attractions on its website as the following:
Climb aboard a gloomy Doom Buggy for a grave journey through a labyrinth of haunted chambers.
The disembodied voice of the Ghost Host is your private guide through the cadaverous realm of an eerie haunted estate, home to ghosts, ghouls and supernatural surprises.
Glide past a casket-filled conservatory, Madame Leota’s chilling séance room and a ghostly graveyard of singing specters as you attempt to find your way out. Beware of hitchhikers—these phantom pranksters may follow you home.
Happy haunting!
Inside the Magic also has not personally ruled out the possibility of any mischievous “happy haunts” being behind the ride issues.
