Attractions close down at Disney World quite often during the day due to maintenance and technical difficulties. Typically, attractions can get back up and running after a short closure during a theme park day, but at times, the closure can take longer.
When you are visiting Disney World and looking to ride that all-star attraction like Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, or Slinky Dog Dash, having it temporarily close is usually the worst possible outcome, because it can prevent you from riding.
Today, fans of The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom may be experiencing that exact feeling. The Disney park opened today to large Valentine’s Day crowds of 90+ minute waits, but one major E-ticket attraction was missing. Magic Kingdom’s The Haunted Mansion has been closed all day and has been listed on the My Disney Experience app as temporarily closed.
Of course, as we mentioned, closures happen on attractions quite often, so it is likely that The Haunted Mansion is just undergoing some technical difficulties and will be back up and running once corrected. That being said, attractions like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith have closed down for days to fix ride problems, so it really cannot be guaranteed how long a Walt Disney World Resort attraction will be down.

The Haunted Mansion is not slated to undergo a refurbishment, so Guests looking to ride should keep an eye out on the My Disney Experience app throughout the day. Considering the massive wait times around all Disney parks today, it is likely that once The Haunted Mansion reopens, there will be Guests flocking to the attraction to hopefully be the attractions 1000th happy haunt aboard a doom buggy!
