The VelociCoaster is set to open June 10, at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park at the Universal Orlando Resort. VelociCoaster is a brand-new roller coaster that is themed to the Jurassic World franchise. This is the first Jurassic World attraction to appear at the Jurassic Park-themed area at Island’s of Adventure.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the opening of this attraction as the black steel of the roller coaster can be seen from nearly every part of the theme park.

Universal has been tirelessly testing the new attraction in order to get it ready for Guests on June 10. Thanks to Bioreconstruct on Twitter, we see that Universal took advantage of the severe weather in the Orlando area today to test the VelociCoaster in poor weather conditions.

Until the VelociCoaster is open we will not know what condition will cause the attraction to close, but typically we do see heavy rain, winds, and lightning close most outdoor attractions at theme parks. For example, we saw both The Incredible Hulk Coaster and Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure close recently due to poor weather conditions.
