If you are in Florida today and you look out the window, you will more than see views of torrential downpours as lightning strikes fill the sky and loud thunderous roads are heard. A severe thunderstorm warning is sweeping the state, and Orlando is not excused.

Because of that, today is not really the best day to visit Universal Orlando Resort. Aside from the fact that even with a rain jacket, poncho, and umbrella you will still end up soaking wet, but because of the strong winds, rain, and lightning a lot of the attractions have had to close down as they are unsafe to ride and operate under these conditions.
Therefore, whether Guests are at Universal’s Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios Florida, the harsh weather is causing popular attractions such as Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, and any other attraction with an outdoor aspect to have to temporarily close down for the time being.

Volcano Bay will also not allow Guests in the water while the weather continues to lightning, so if you plan on visiting the water park today, be sure to keep an eye on the Universal Orlando app.
Universal Orlando Resort will reopen the outdoor attractions once it is safe to do so, but if you want to be in the know, be sure to keep an eye out on their website or the Universal Orlando app to check the latest wait times.
Luckily for Guests at Universal, both theme parks have many indoor attractions with indoor queues where Guests can escape the downpour and enjoy the spectacular attractions that the theme parks have to offer like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, E.T. Adventure, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, and more!
