It seems that Universal Studios Hollywood will start using a virtual queue system when the Park reopens on April 15 for its Pass Member Preview day.
Instagram user @thecalibae was at Universal Hollywood today and shared pictures advertising the virtual queue. The sign was found outside of the new ride that will premier when the Park opens, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash.
So this just happened!!! Virtual queue is going live today possiblyÂ
According to the sign, the Virtual Line can be accessed by going on the Universal Hollywood app, which also lets Guests know attraction wait times, showtimes, and check out restaurant menus.
This is not the first time that a Universal Studios park would be using a virtual line system. Universal Studios Orlando implemented a virtual line system when their Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure Park opened back up in June of 2o20.
There are currently 6 rides at Universal Orlando Resort that have a virtual line. Those rides are:
- Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
- Fast & Furious Supercharged
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
- Revenge of the Mummy
- Skull Island: Reign of Kong
Guests will need to download the Universal Studios Hollywood official app in order to access the virtual line.
There is no confirmation from Universal Hollywood virtual line will work, but if it is the same as at Universal Orlando, there will be some key points to remember.
On busy days, it is possible that a virtual line will be the only way to access the ride. During Spring Break in Orlando, rides like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon had no standby queue and were only utilizing the virtual line.
Guests are able to hold a reservation for 2 rides at a time and make a reservation for up to 8 Guests.
It is important to remember that Universal Studios Hollywood has not yet announced what their virtual line system or what rides will be on the list. The only ride we seem to have confirmation on is The Secret Life of Pets.
More popular rides at Universal Hollywood are Transformers™: The Ride-3D, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Revenge of the Mummy℠– The Ride, so it would not be surprising to see a virtual line being used on those rides as well.
Pass Member Preview Day at Universal Hollywood will take place on April 15, and the Park will open up to the public on April 16. Guests can purchase tickets and make reservations by visiting the Universal Studios Hollywood Website.
While the virtual line system is not currently in effect, Universal Hollywood treated their Guests to quite the surprise. Attendees of the Taste of Universal event were able to ride the newest attraction, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash today!

Attractions were not scheduled to open until the official park reopening, but Universal decided to turn that on its head.
Other attractions were seen operating as well, including Silly Swirly Fun Ride and Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride.
