On April 16, Guests will finally be able to visit the park and ride on favorites such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Revenge of the Mummy after a more than year-long closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now a brand new attraction will be available when Universal Studios Hollywood reopens, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!
The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash, located near Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, will bring Guests into the world of Max, Gidget, and all of their friends. According to the Universal website:
Discover the exciting world of Illumination’s The Secret Life of Pets when you meet your favorite characters on the all-new ride, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash. Join Max, Duke, Gidget and Snowball on a journey through the streets of New York City as you get ready to be welcomed into your new home.
While Universal Studios officially announced the ride on February 20, 2020, and had it set to open on March 27, 2020, The Secret Life of Pets: Off The Leash opening was unfortunately delayed due to the spread of Covid-19.
With the start of Taste of Universal, guests have been able to visit the completed area where the buildings are all shiny and new, with a new store focused on merchandise featuring all the film’s characters.
The ride is set up right across the street from Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem and the Super Silly Fun Land area, which blends nicely as both films are animated features from Illumination Entertainment and have the same style and feel, which allows for an easy flow between the two areas.
We are so excited to ride The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash once Universal Studios Hollywood reopens on April 16. No word yet if the attraction will be available during the Pass Member previews ahead of the grand reopening of the theme park.
