In March 2016, the Walt Disney Company announced plans to construct three new cruise liners. This trio of sister ships, the Triton Class, will ultimately join Disney Cruise Line’s existing fleet — the Disney Wonder, the Disney Magic, the Disney Fantasy, and the Disney Dream.
Now, the wait to book a stateroom set sail on the first luxurious Triton Class vessel, the Disney Wish, is over!
While we know the Disney Wish would be taking her maiden voyage in Summer 2022, Disney has now confirmed that bookings will open on May 27, 2021! In a press release, Disney shared these details:
Bookings open to the general public on May 27, 2021 for Disney Wish cruises departing June through September 2022. Castaway Club members, Disney Vacation Club members, Adventures by Disney Insiders and other select Disney guests will have early booking opportunities beginning May 17.
Disney Cruise Line fans who are lucky enough to gain passage on the maiden voyage of Disney’s fifth cruise ship have a lot to look forward to. Today, it was confirmed that the incredible fairytale-inspired ship will feature a first-of-its-kind Star Wars-themed lounge, a reimagined Oceaneer Club for kids age 3 to 12, and staterooms so luxurious, you’ll never want to leave!
In addition to what will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, these passengers will get to see the first-ever Disney Princess masthead and lobby statue! The cruise operator previously confirmed that Rapunzel (and Pascal!) will be on the bow of the ship, while a gold statue of Cinderella will stand in the lobby.
At this time, there has been no official word on when Disney Cruise Line, and other domestic cruise operators, will resume sailing in the United States amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek previously shared that he was optimistic about a Fall 2021 return and, just today, the CDC stated that a mid-July return to cruising may be possible.
Bear in mind that the Disney Wish will not take its maiden voyage until June 9, 2022, so there is plenty of time to prepare for your voyage on Disney’s incredible new ship! The Wish will leave from Port Canaveral and will take Guests to the Bahamas on three- and four-night cruises to Nassau and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
