Credit: DisneyToday, Disney Cruise Line dropped some magical news about the newest ship in the fleet — the Disney Wish! Even during a year of hardship, Disney has shared something wonderful that we can look forward to experiencing aboard what looks to be the greatest Disney Cruise ship of all.
Disney Cruise Line — like all of The Walt Disney Company’s Parks, Experiences and Products division — has struggled amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, although the CDC’s No-Sail Order was lifted on October 31, Disney Cruise Line has canceled all itineraries through March 2021 — this means that the Disney fleet will have officially spent a full year without sailing due to COVID-19.
There is, however, a light at the end of the tunnel! The CDC is offering cruise operators — including Disney Cruise Line — the ability to earn Conditional Sailing Certificates for each of their ships. Once these certifications are granted, some cruises will be allowed to commence again, though they must meet specific requirements, such as not exceeding seven nights.
Furthermore, the next chapter of Disney Cruise Line is about to begin. The first Triton Class ship, the Disney Wish, is slated to set sail in early 2022. In October, Disney issued this official statement regarding the luxury liner’s maiden voyage:
Originally planned to sail in early 2022, the Disney Wish is now scheduled for its maiden voyage in summer 2022 due to pandemic-related delays at the Meyer-Werft shipyard in Germany.As previously announced, the Disney Wish will be powered by liquified natural gas or LNG, one of the cleanest-burning fuels available. Today, during ABC’s airing of the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration, Disney made an exciting announcement regarding the Disney Wish! They shared a never before seen video of the upcoming cruise liner, complete with a “Summer 2022” sailing date.
