There are a ton of things to see and do at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, including taking a trip up Mount Everest, or seeing the gorgeous animals, including a new baby mandrill on Kilimanjaro Safaris!
There are also a number of great places to eat, but currently, not all dining locations are open. The theme park opened up in July 2020 after a four-month-long pandemic closure, but not all restaurants opened up with it.

Caravan Road
Caravan Road is a yummy quick service location that can be found in the Asia area of Animal Kingdom Park.
The Disney description is:
Flow by this refreshing kiosk—located directly across Discovery River from the Tree of Life—where you can discover a cascade of vegetarian cuisine and a selection of beverages, along with exciting seasonal fare offered throughout the year.
Dino Diner
Located in DinoLand U.S.A, Dino Diner has fun and different snacks for Guests, including a corn chip pie (Fritos and chili? Sign me up!), chips and queso, and the Dino-Rama chili cheese dog.
Disney describes the quick service spot as:
Chomp on churros with chocolate sauce, or get your claws on dino drinks like ice cold sodas and frosty frozen lemonade—all served from a playful, old-time trailer.
Eight Spoon Café
Eight Spoon Café specializes in one of the most delicious comfort foods, macaroni and cheese! They offer several versions of the cheesy, melty baked pasta, including plain, mac and cheese with shrimp, and baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork.
Eight Spoon Café is described by Disney:
Chomp on churros with chocolate sauce, or get your claws on dino drinks like ice cold sodas and frosty frozen lemonade—all served from a playful, old-time trailer.
Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery
The Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery quick-service location can be found in the Africa area at Animal Kingdom and offers traditional snacks like cinnamon rolls and muffins, but also offers unique dishes like spinach and feta quiché, shrimp curry, pistachio honey croissant, and quinoa salad.
According to Disney:
Explore the savanna with breakfast to go—from freshly baked pastries to fruit, yogurt and more. Midday cravings? Tame the wild hunger beast with one of our delicious curries! Hot and cold beverages are also available.
Pizzafari
Pizzafari, found in Discovery Island, offers two types of dining for families who eat there. One is a traditional menu with various pizzas to order, as well as an adorable Lion King cupcake.
The second type of dining offered by Pizzafari is family-style. Guests who choose this option will be given two salads, a Caprese salad and a Caesar salad. They will also be given a full-size pizza and can choose between cheese, pepperoni, sausage, or plant-based. Next, Guests will be given four options of which they can choose two — baked ziti, creamy chicken pesto, meatballs marinara, and garlic knots. Finally, the family-style meal gives Guests miniature cannolis for dessert.
Restaurantosaurus Burgers and Sundaes
Not to be confused with Restaurantosaurus, Restaurantosaurus Burgers & Sundaes is a different location that offers hand-crafted burgers that have a variety of toppings, including a sunny-side up egg, chili-cheese corn chips, pulled pork, and more.
There is also an Impossible Burger, a fried chicken sandwich, and a kid’s menu featuring a basic cheeseburger, macaroni and cheese, and a garden salad.
Topping off the delicious menu is a Build-Your-Own Sundae bar.
The Smiling Crocodile
The Smiling Crocodile menu may be small, but it is definitely unique! You can find this small stand on Discovery Island. Here you can treat yourself to delicious pork tamales, street tacos, and the one-of-a-kind pulled pork jelly donut sandwich.
Yes, you read that right. It is a jelly donut, stuffed with pulled pork and served with coleslaw.
Terra Treats
Terra Treats is another small stand Guests can find on Discovery Island, that has a small selection, but they are cute and tasty. Guests can choose from a tomato and cheese pizza, a Chef’s specialty pizza, and a spaghetti and meatball cupcake. The cupcake isn’t made from actual spaghetti and meatballs but made from orange cake with cannoli cream. Frosting and fondant are used to look like pasta and meatballs.
Tusker House Restaurant
The Tusker House closure is one of the more major ones at the theme park. It is known for its African-inspired fare and the super-fun breakfast safari hosted by Donald Duck and his friends.
Donald’s Breakfast Safari is a buffet-style, character dining meal where Guests can see Donald, Mickey, Goofy, and other favorites in their safari gear, ready to go on an adventure. The extensive buffet includes Simba and Nala waffles, banana bread pudding, frittatas, beef bobotie, and a variety of fruit chutneys.
Lunch and dinner are also character dining meals, called Donald’s Dining Safari, where Guests can feast on spit-roasted chicken, roasted pork, whole salmon, and black-eyed pea salad. There is also a kids buffet area, with corn dog nuggets and macaroni and cheese — which, let’s be honest, adults love too.
Warung Outpost
While the Warung Outpost in the Asia area does offer a selection of chips, as well as a Mickey pretzel with cheese dip, that is not the main draw of the stand. The stand caters to adults over 21-years-old, who would like a refreshing drink during a long day at the parks.
Warung Outpost sells three kinds of delicious margaritas, Kali River Mango, Bali Hai Strawberry, and Maharaja Lime. They also offer a specialty drink called the Triple Yeti Blast, which is all three of the margaritas layered to give it a beautiful color.
Warung Outpost also offers several beer and wine selections for those not in the mood for margaritas.
What these closures mean for your Animal Kingdom Theme Park Visit
Unfortunately, there are not a lot of table service dining locations at Animal Kingdom, so it does hurt that sit-downs like Tusker House and Restaurantosaurus are closed. Luckily for Guests, Animal Kingdom has a ton of locations that are open and operational — and offer absolutely delicious dining options. So, fear not!
Both Yak & Yeti and Rainforest Café are very popular locations in the park for Guests wanting a sit-down dining experience. Guests who would like a higher-end meal can indulge and give Tiffins on Discovery Island a try!
