As Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure gear up for a hopeful reopening in late April, though an exact date has not yet been confirmed, the California Resort is continuing to update their website with official information to help Guests understand what they can expect once both theme parks at Disneyland Resort reopen.

Recently, we reported that some amenities, including FASTPASS, Disney MaxPass, Magic Morning, and Extra Magic Hour offerings, will be suspended as part of the phased reopening efforts amid the pandemic.

This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise since this is very similar to what Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida did when they reopened their theme parks and hotels in July 2020. Though, ever since the reopening, Disney World has brought back some of the amenities, including Park Hopping.

It is best to visit Disneyland’s official website for most up-to-date information on the reopening of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

Guests Speak Out Regarding Suspended Park Amenities

Disney Parks fans have been itching to once again step foot into the original Disney theme park in California, however, after Disneyland confirmed which amenities wouldn’t be available due to safety protocols, some are a bit disappointed.

Inside the Magic Facebook follower, Aaron R. said:

No worries. I guess you have to buy a ticket at full price to go.

Richard G. expressed similar frustrations:

Yay pay full price for half the experience.

And Nick B. instantly thought about the fan-favorite nighttime show, Fantasmic!:

Does that mean no Fantasmic for a while?

Bri A. is speculating that FASTPASS may forever be a thing of the past:

Anyone want to bet that Free Fastpass are forever gone and the MaxPass price when it comes back will be higher?

And Jeanine R. said that this is the perfect time for Disneyland to make changes that they’ve been wanting to for quite some time now:

They’ve been trying to make some of these changes for a long time. This is the perfect excuse.

Sara P., on the other hand, is looking on the bright side hoping Disney characters will be out and about the same way they are in Disney World:

I’m sure the characters will be out the same way they are at Disney World

Lastly, Crystal S. shared some positivity with Disneyland reopening, despite some amenities not being available:

I am so beyond happy that Disneyland is on its way to opening! I have been praying for my Brother and Sister Cast Members for so long! Things will be different to start, yes….but following the rules and accepting what they can safely offer to remain open and continue moving forward. Keeping the positive vibes following my DLR peeps!!!

More on Disneyland’s Phased Reopening

Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park closed in March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic, and have remained closed ever since.

The good news is for future park-goers, they will soon be able to step foot inside a California theme park. Just a little while ago, we reported that the major theme parks located within the state of California, including Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, received positive reopening news as they are now allowed to reopen in tier 2 at 15% limited capacity. It is important to note that the theme parks can only host California residents only — no out-of-state Guests are allowed in this first phase of reopening.

Though at this time we do not have an exact reopening date or reopening guidelines for Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure, as mentioned at the beginning of this article, CEO Bob Chapek confirmed during the shareholder’s meeting that he hopes to have both theme parks at Disneyland Resort ready by late April.

In the meantime, if you are looking to get some Disneyland magic, be sure to head over to Downtown Disney District, and by extension portions of Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure! They are currently open to Guests for select outdoor dining and shopping, though Buena Vista Street will close tomorrow and reopen with A Touch of Disney.

In just a few days, Disney California Adventure will be opening up more of its theme park as they will host an event titled A Touch of Disney, which will bring Guests a selection of iconic food and beverage items from both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure as well as the opportunity to see Mickey and the gang from a safe social distance! For more information on this event, visit Disneyland’s website here.
