In case you missed it, Walt Disney Company’s CEO, Bob Chapek, confirmed during the recent shareholder’s meeting that he hopes to have both theme parks at Disneyland Resort ready by end of April, which is getting future Guests very excited. And as we inch closer to April, the team behind the California resort is sharing how thankful they are for the memories Guests have created in the past at the theme parks, and how there are still many memories to be made.
The official Disneyland account posted an encouraging photo to Instagram, which reads “For all the memories we share… and those we still have to make… Thank You. From the Cast of Disneyland Resort “. The image is a standalone photo showcasing the backside of the famous Walt and Mickey statue, with no caption.

Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park have remained closed since March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. However, just a little while ago, we reported that the major theme parks located within the state of California, including Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, received positive reopening news as they are now allowed to reopen in tier 2 at 15% limited capacity. Additionally, it is important to note that the theme parks can only host California residents only — no out-of-state Guests are allowed in this first phase of reopening.
Though at this time we do not have an exact reopening date or reopening guidelines for Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure, as previously mentioned, CEO Bob Chapek did confirm during the shareholder’s meeting that he hopes to have both theme parks at Disneyland Resort ready by late April.

We also know that when the parks do reopen, some amenities, including FASTPASS, Disney MaxPass, Magic Morning, and Extra Magic Hour offerings, will be suspended as part of the phased reopening efforts amid the pandemic. This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise since this is very similar to what Walt Disney World Resort did when they reopened their theme parks and hotels in July 2020.

In the meantime, if you are looking to soak up some Disneyland magic, you can head on over to Downtown Disney District, and by extension portions of Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure, as they are currently open to Guests for select outdoor dining and shopping. And in just a few days, Disney California Adventure will be opening up more of its theme park as they will host an event titled A Touch of Disney.
A Touch of Disney will bring Guests a selection of iconic food and beverage items from both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure as well as the opportunity to see Mickey and the gang from a safe social distance!
