Credit: DisneyDisneyland Park and Disney California Adventure have both remained closed due to the pandemic. Ever since the theme parks shut their gates last March, Guests have been eager to find out any information regarding when they can once again get the Disneyland experience.
Though, Downtown Disney District, and by extension portions of Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure, opened up to Guests for select outdoor dining and shopping, fans have been itching for more. Well, Inside the Magic is happy to report that Disney California Adventure will be hosting an event titled A Touch of Disney.
Though we already knew an event was coming soon, Disney has now released several details surrounding what Guests can expect, including ticket prices, dates, and more! One of the most exciting things is that A Touch of Disney will bring Guests a selection of iconic food and beverage items from both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
But that’s not all because one of the things Guests can also look forward to at this event is once again seeing Mickey and the gang waving from a safe social distance!
Disney Parks Blog has shared that Guests attending A Touch of Disney may catch a wave from various Disney characters from a safe social distance, including:
- Mickey Mouse and friends (we typically see them on Buena Vista Street)
- Mater and Lightning McQueen (we often catch them in Cars Land)
- Joy and Sadness (normally, we can spot them on Pixar Pier)
According to the official Disney announcement:
While you explore the park, capture photos at iconic locations and discover new photo-worthy spots – some that are available only if you attend A Touch of Disney. You might catch a wave from Mickey Mouse and see some of his pals in unexpected settings. Mater and Lightning McQueen may be seen in Cars Land, or Joy and Sadness at Pixar Pier. To help set the stage for A Touch of Disney, a new, specially curated soundtrack of reimagined Disney songs will be broadcast throughout the park, along with updates and reminders about many can’t-miss experiences. Attractions remain closed for now.
It is important to keep in mind that this is a ticketed event coming to Disney California Adventure. Disneyland Park remains closed at this time. Additionally, no attractions will be operating during A Touch of Disney to stay in line with the state guidelines.
