Disney World is always innovating and creating to ensure the best Guest experience possible — all the way down to your cell phone connection!

Whenever Guests visit Disney World, there are always many things one can rave about. However, cell phone connection typically is not at the top of that list. The Disney World complimentary WiFi service is mediocre at best, and even if Guests use their data, there are often so many others using the same cell signals that the speed can slow down significantly.

This is something that I personally have experienced at the Walt Disney Resort, especially at their resort hotels so it was exciting to see new 5G cell towers being implemented on property, which will be even better than LTE speed! It seems that currently, the EPCOT Resorts are erecting new cell towers that will ensure faster speed and connection for Guests. As I write this article from Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, I can personally confirm that the connection is looking up.
Below are just a handful of the 5G cell towers that are going up around the EPCOT Resort property — these belonging to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.

The towers cover the entire area of the resort, ensuring that all guests can get high-speed connection and service.

Inside the Magic spoke with a Cast Member at Disney who confirmed that these towers were going up at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club as well, which is great news to those staying on Disney World property.

Although not confirmed, these new cell towers could be the beginning of more implementations of towers around Disney World Resort, including EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Considering so much is currently being done off of the My Disney Experience app including mobile ordering, including the newly added mobile checkout, and more, it would make sense that Disney would look to upgrade the user experience in all aspects — including speed.
