It appears that many Guests at Disney’s Pop Century Resort are using the Skyliner today, and lines are wrapping around the resort.
The news comes from Jen Marcus Fernandez, who is currently on vacation at Disney World and posted about the lines at Pop Century this morning.
As you can see, Pop Century was ready for this level of demand and lines, with social distancing makers being placed on the walkway leading up to the loading station. However, once you arrive at the Skyliner station, Guests must wait in a wrap-around queue. For this line to stretch past that queue, down the bridge, back to the Resort, with really no end in sight, is quite the line.
One of Disney’s most popular Value Resorts is definitely Disney’s Pop Century Resort. It’s my personal favorite within the category for many reasons, but a huge factor as of just about a year ago is that Pop is on the Disney Skyliner track. Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century Resort both share a Skyliner boarding station between the two resorts which you can reach on the Generation Gap bridge.
Disney’s Skyliner takes you to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios via air travel and is often very popular for the time it saves Guests since you do not need to wait for a bus, and the Skyliner is always in constant motion loading new Guests. Due to the pandemic, the Skyliner has only been able to load one party per gondola, and lines must be socially distanced, due to this you can imagine that there would be longer wait times for the Disney transportation system.
Luckily Disney’s Skyliner is always moving, so the line often is not static, but the wait to enter your gondola to take a bite of a delicious snack at EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival or grab your boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge may not be as fast as you would like. Guests should plan to budget extra travel time when using any Disney transportation, especially at any Skyliner resort where Disney busses do not frequently run to parks on the Skyliner line.
The Disney Resorts which have connections to the Disney Skyliners are:
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney’s Rivera Resort
Please note that if you are staying at any resort other than Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you must get off your Skyliner at Caribbean Beach to swap to another line that will take you to either EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
If you want to ride in the sky with the Disney Skyliner today, why not book a vacation? The Disney Skyliners make your vacation more magical, giving you a bird’s eye view of the Walt Disney World Resort, and act as another attraction in itself.
