It’s safe to say this year has not been the easiest. The global pandemic has affected so many individuals, families, and businesses — Including Walt Disney World.
Disney made the difficult decision to furlough thousands of Cast Members due to the temporary park closures back in the spring. Even though the Disney Parks are slowly beginning to reopen and get back on their feet, several Cast Members are still furloughed, which of whom, we are keeping in our thoughts and prayers during this unprecedented time.
However, to those Cast Members who were able to return to work, we want to thank you. Thank you for bringing the magic back into the parks, even with the several changes Disney had to make in order to reopen safely. Thank you for continuing to work with a smile on your face, even though working during the global pandemic can be very scary. And thank you for creating magical moments for families and Guests who visit from all around the world.

There is one Cast Member in particular that we felt deserved a bit of recognition — This custodian who was recently working on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom.
One Reddit user was filming, waiting for the marching band to come down Main Street U.S.A. and caught this custodian dancing as if nobody was watching. You can see him shaking his hips and tapping his feet as the marching band came strolling down Main Street.
This wonderful human being reminding us all why Disney Cast Members are the greatest! Main Street, U.S.A., Magic Kingdom, 9/9/2020 from WaltDisneyWorld
But once the custodian realized he was being filmed — He continued to dance, even more obviously, because he knew it was bringing joy to the family who was videotaping him. This is just one of the many reasons why we love Disney Cast Members.
So please remember, even though you may get frustrated because a ride breaks down, or you didn’t get to dine at the one restaurant you wanted to — Please don’t take it out on the Cast Members. They are there to help spread joy and magic to the families visiting the theme parks and make it the most magical stay you have ever had. They are just human and you can see, they are trying too.

Here at Inside the Magic we know The Walt Disney Company is doing everything they can to keep their guests’, Cast Members’ and crew members safety in mind and as their number 1 priority during this unfortunate time. We want to remind everyone to please stay home and stay safe. Take all of the safety precautions and follow the CDC guidelines, including social distancing, remaining six feet apart from others, covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing, wiping down doorknobs and door handles, and washing your hands.
Thank you, Disney Cast Members, for bringing joy to Guests even during this unprecedented time.
