As we get closer to Walt Disney World’s reopening, more clarity is coming to light in regarding the transportation options available.
We know that there will be no EPCOT monorail, nor water taxi service from Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness will have limited water taxi service.
In a press release Walt Disney World stated the following Transportation Update:
Transportation – Capacity and guest density is limited for complimentary Walt Disney World guest transportation, and guests are required to wear appropriate face coverings at all times during their journey. Buses and Monorails will implement a combination of physical distancing and physical barriers to provide separation between guest parties. Party groups will be required to maintain physical distancing while aboard Disney watercraft. Disney Skyliner will load one party per gondola when it returns to operation July 15, 2020. For those arriving in their own vehicles, auto plazas will offer cashless payment; parking lot trams will not be available at this time.
We at Inside the Magic also recently reported that Monorail and Ferry Boat service between the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center began running July 7 for the Cast Member preview, Walt Disney World buses have been operating since the resort hotels reopened on June 22, and the Disney Skyliner is expected to resume operations on July 15 with the reopening of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
