Although there are a number of perks to staying in an onsite Walt Disney World Resort hotel, one much-appreciated benefit is the option to have merchandise from all four Disney World theme parks delivered directly to your room.
Another option is to have packages held at the front of the park and pick them up upon your departure at the end of the day. Bags full of Disney Parks souvenirs, including t-shirts, plush toys, and housewares, can quickly become heavy and cumbersome, so both of these options are great for Guests.
We have learned, however, that during the phased reopening of Disney World, both merchandise pick-up and merchandise delivery have been suspended. Disney has issued the following updated on the WDW website:
The notice for Resort Guests reads:
Delivery Option: Package delivery to the front of our theme parks or to Disney Resort hotels is suspended. However, shipping merchandise to Guests’ homes continues to be available.
It is worth noting that Disney will still ship packages for their Guests, which is the perfect choice if you purchase any large items or other unwieldy Disney Parks merchandise you can’t easily take home with you.
Furthermore, the standard Package Pickup page is still available on the Disney World website, which indicates that merchandise pick-up and delivery services will return at some point.
Other Disney Parks Services That Are Currently Suspended
Package pick-up and resort hotel delivery are not the only services that are currently unavailable at Disney World and other Disney theme parks worldwide.
Character meet-and-greets look much different than they normally do, character dining is socially distanced, and mandatory face masks must be worn at all times.
Some normal Walt Disney World experiences, such Fort Wilderness campfires, FastPass+, new Annual Passholder sales, and firework displays and other nighttime spectaculars, are completely unavailable at this time.
