After a nearly four-month closure, two of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks have officially reopened to the public: Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney World has begun its phased reopening of its theme parks with the official reopening of Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom today. This morning marks another milestone in the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort, as Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park welcome guests for the first time in several months. Our cast members have been eagerly anticipating this moment and are looking forward to making magic today as only they can.

Two of the Disney World parks — Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom — have offered previews for Cast Members and Annual Passholders this week, ahead of reopening to the public. The other two parks — EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios — officially reopen on Wednesday, July 15. Disney Springs has been open since May 20, and Disney Resort hotels began gradually reopening on June 22.

There are a few essential things to know about Walt Disney World Resort theme parks reopening:
- Reservations are required in order to ever the Disney Parks.
- All Guests are required to have their temperatures checked upon arrival.
- All Guests ages two and older must wear face coverings. Read the full guidelines here.
- Guests must adhere to all health and safety measures, including social distancing, and Cast Members help facilitate and enforce this protocol.
- The theme parks are different, with different protocol in place for shopping and dining, and even different ways that characters are greeting Guests. But they are still magical.
