Disneyland Resort has announced plans to begin a phased reopening on July 9 with Downtown Disney, and the theme parks aim to reopen on July 17. Despite submitting their plans for reopening, Disneyland Resort hours remain unavailable.
The official Disneyland Resort website and the Disneyland app currently show Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney as closed. But upon examining the proposed July 9 reopening date for Downtown Disney, the Disneyland Resort calendar says “schedule unavailable.”
Taking a look at July 17 (Disneyland’s birthday and the proposed reopening date for Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park) you will find that the calendar says “schedule unavailable” for both theme parks and Downtown Disney, as well.
Keep in mind that when Walt Disney World Resort revealed the theme park hours for Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom (scheduled to reopen on July 11) as well as for EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (scheduled to reopen on July 15), the calendar displayed reduced hours for each of the theme parks.
Disneyland Resort has shared that, just like at Walt Disney World Resort, the southern California Disney Parks and Downtown Disney will operate with limited capacity. Fans expect Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney to have limited operating hours just like Disney World. But for context, the announcement of Disney World’s operating hours came on the same day as Disney revealed the plans for the phased reopening of Disney World (that day, local government officials approved the Disney World reopening plan).

At the time of this article’s publication, Disneyland Resort’s official website still states that Downtown Disney plans to reopen on July 9 (something that would be allowed in the current phase of the reopening of Orange County, California, where Downtown Disney is located). But the website also says that the planned reopening of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure is pending government approval.
The Downtown Disney District will begin opening on July 9. Pending state and local government approvals, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will plan to reopen on July 17, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will plan to reopen on July 23.
Still, at the top of the Disneyland Resort website in bold, the reopening message still remains: “Phased Reopening of the Disneyland Resort Set to Begin in July.”
We will update Inside the Magic as more information about Disneyland Resort’s phased reopening becomes available.
