As Hong Kong Disneyland just reopened its theme park gates to guests on June 18 and as both Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California gear up for their phased reopening of the theme parks next month, Disney Parks is now releasing new information regarding their health and safety measures.

Disney’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pamela Hymel, shared an update this morning on Good Morning America regarding the parks’ health and safety measures.

Disney is eager to bring the magic back at the Disney Parks but health protocols and safety is their number one concern during this time. Last month, we reported how Dr. Pamela Hymel was working with US Travel Association on guidelines for the travel industry as well as exploring options for the Disney Parks including phased reopening, social distancing protocols, sanitization such as having hand sanitizer and frequent cleaning of the theme park, Cast Member training, and more.

But this morning on Good Morning America, Dr. Pamela Hymel gave us an update on how Disney Parks is continuing to handle their health and safety measures prior to the phased reopening on the theme parks.

This morning, Disney announced they have released a new health and safety campaign including the cast of The Incredibles to help with special reminders to help keep guests safe. “It spotlights all the health and safety protocols that we put in place and it’s using many of the characters that our guests know and love,” Dr. Pamela Hymel said. The campaign includes characters such as Frozone, Mrs. Incredible and more!

Disney Parks Blog also released an update regarding the new Incredibles themed health and safety tips saying “As we take our first steps in the phased reopenings of our Resorts, we’ve reimagined Disney experiences with the well-being of our guests and cast members in mind – and some of our favorite characters will be joining us along the way!”

Disney Parks Blog also shared “Just like the Incredibles, we each have a role to play as we watch out for one another and do our part. Because together we are magic … and we all need a little more magic in our lives, don’t you think?” We are loving this new health and safety campaign and can’t wait to see what else Disney is planning to help keep their guests safe while still enjoying the Disney magic we know and love!

Will Reeve from Good Morning America asked Dr. Pamela Hymel what she would say if a family stated they really want to go to the Disney Parks but are nervous. Dr. Pamela Hymel said to exercise caution, only do what you are comfortable with and know Disney is taking the situation very seriously and can’t wait to welcome guests back when they are ready.

More Information On Disney Parks Reopenings

When Disney World and Disneyland reopen to guests next month, things at the theme park will look a lot different. Social distancing measures will be put in place, excessive cleanliness, encouragement of mobile orders, plexiglass, the elimination of character meet and greets, parades, fireworks and other similar entertainment that draws a crowd, and much more.
