Credit: MarvelCalling all Marvel fans! We already know that we’re going to need to keep up with Disney+ original series in order to fully understand the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And luckily, we now know when one of the most-talked-about new shows WandaVision is coming to Disney’s streaming service.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger confirmed on Tuesday that WandaVision will be released on Disney+ this December 2020. Disney CEO Bob Iger shared the news of the WandaVision release date (as well as the release date for The Mandalorian and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) during Tuesday’s investors call.
In case you’re not caught up, here’s what you need to know about WandaVision. The new series follows two of the MCU heroes from the Avengers movies (Wanda and Vision) living ideal suburban lives. But of course, not everything can be as simple as a classic television sitcom. Wanda Maximoff and Vision begin to suspect that everything they’re living isn’t quite what it seems. And that’s where we as viewers come in.
The show stars Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany as the titular characters. It’s directed by Matt Shakman, and Jac Schaeffer serves as head writer.
We’re not too sure what else to expect from the show, but we were definitely impressed by the first sneak peeks we saw during the Super Bowl TV spot, which you can read about here and watch below:
WandaVision is among many of the awesome new shows coming to Disney+ in 2020 and beyond. Of course, we can’t wait for the return of The Mandalorian, but we’re also thrilled to see The Falcon and the Winter Soldier once it premieres this year, and we’re probably most excited to see Tom Hiddleson in Loki.
We’re definitely excited to learn an exact release date for WandaVision and hear more about to come in the new series. November 12, 2020 will mark the one-year anniversary since Disney+ first launched, and we’re sure that Disney, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and the rest of the Disney+ team have plenty more up their sleeves.
