While the concept might sound crazy to some, go back a few years and you’d be laughed at for thinking that Spider-Man would ever make it into the MCU! While Tom Holland is still web-slinging as part of the main MCU cast, there have been recent things happening behind the scenes of Morbius and in the trailer that suggests both studios could be setting up something big. Signs are pointing to a Spider-Verse live-action movie. Let’s take a look at some of the detail.
The Spider-Man suit
In the Morbius trailer, a keen eye would see that a version of the Spidey suit actually shows up in the background that we haven’t seen in the MCU. This version is almost exactly the same as the suit that Toby Maguire wore in the original Sam Rami trilogy. It’s fair to say that this could just be a nice nod the movies, especially when the graffiti wording ties in directly with Tom Hollands Spidey at the end of Far From Home.
Take a look for yourself:

The Vulture
Up until now, The Vulture has only appeared in Spider-Man’s MCU adventures. The trailer for Morbius changed this when we saw Michael Keaton return to the role. Check out the trailer below for reference:
While it’s equally as likely that Sony and Marvel are setting up the Sinister Six in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe movie starring some of the top Spider-Man Villains, it would be nice for Marvel and Sony to take this to another level with a Spider-Verse film.
Kevin Feige
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has certainly hinted that Sony’s Spidey Universe is going to be crossing over with the MCU in big ways. Now we’ve already touched on the fact that The Vulture appears in the Morbius trailer but we can’t help think that Kevin is referencing something much bigger:
“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Feige. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold”
Maybe we just live in hope
Spider-Man is the comic book that I’ve been reading since I was a little kid and things are finally going well for the web-slinger on the big screen with Spider-Man Homecoming and Far From Home being excellent.
Sony just can’t seem to get it right with Spider-Man villains with Venom being a huge disappointment for many fans and their last solo offering without Marvel’s help, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, also disappointing many fans.

Also, can you imagine how much money a movie would make if Andrew Garfield, Toby Maguire, and Tom Holland were all playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man? Start bringing in other versions of the character including Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, 2099, Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen and you have a recipe for huge success. Just imagine all of those Spider-Man characters on screen and the beginning of a Spider-Man Universe!
While this sounds AMAZING, we think Marvel and Sony will play it safe and go for a Sinister Six movie, at least to begin with.
What are your thoughts on all of this? Would you like to see a live-action Spider-Verse?
